Subject: [CR] Cirque Reports

An excellent Cirque for me this year, many thanks to Wayne & MJ and all the volunteers.

Some highlights of this years get together include.

Being visited by the ghost of Henri Desgrange on the Friday ride, he stole one of my derailleur pulleys. So I rode back as a single speed. When word of my plight spread I was gifted with two derailers, one a French one. I used the Huret pulley to fix the crippled Benelux, take that Henri. Thanks to Rick and the fellow who left a Shimano on my Bates.

Saturday ride was much fun, speedy and with a lovely route, the usual mechanical bobbles. A couple loose cranks, but being the Cirque, some kind soul was carrying a crank wrench. Eric Ellman was followed by every crow in the county, an amazing amount of work by Peter and Eric.

The seminars were excellent this year, Dave Wages biography of a frame builder. Jan talking about bikes that were not French ;-), Peter Weigles on the varieties of restoration was both thoughtful and fun. The deserts at the seminar were quite toothsome.

Many many good talks in the hallway, the best part of every Cirque.

As is said at Passover, Next year in Leesburg.
