Subject: [CR] A SELECT FEW VINTAGE CYCLING PARTS FOR SALE

I am once again offering a few items in advance of posting same for sale on eBay (...you are encouraged to check my feedback in that other forum under the seller id name "57103"). Interested parties should please correspond directly and "OFF LIST" through my public email address of rsb000(AT)hotmail.com (...where that trio of numerals would be zeros and NOT the letter "O"). All inquiries will be handled on a first come, first served basis. Detailed pictures and descriptions of the various "FOR SALE" items have been posted to WoolJersey (...see links below) and I strongly encourage everyone to review same in order to make a thoroughly informed purchasing decision. You are also invited to review any of those other "FOR SALE" items not itemized herein but which do appear on WoolJersey. If you have any question as to whether an item is still available for sale, PLEASE CHECK FIRST USING THE FOLLOWING WOOL JERSEY LINKS as I will be marking items "SALE PENDING" when someone agrees to their purchase and then mark them as "SOLD" upon actual receipt of payment.

All prices quoted herein do not include shipping and/or insurance which will be done at cost. I would be happy to aggregate shipping expenses on multiple items destined for the same physical mailing address where practicable. PayPal is preferred, but I also accept payment by cashier's check, money order, or well concealed cash (...mailed at your own risk). Your satisfaction is guaranteed to the extent that you are welcome to return all or part of any purchase for a full refund of monies not to include shipping and/or insurance provided that said merchandise is returned to me in a reasonably timely fashion and that it is in substantially the same condition as when I first sent it out to you (...please let me know in advance of your intentions should this prove to be the case).

Cinelli Unicanitor # 4 saddle - nylon plastic shell - light foam padding - smooth Black leather cover - steel frame rails - model 75 # 4 "Tour de France" ... [USED - extremely nice condition without any nicks, cuts, or similar unsightly blemishes - there is an ever so slight patina of use, primarily in the form of a hint of fading on the "UNICANITOR" markings along the side skirts, a slightly more pronounced fade to the "CINELLI" wording across the back of the saddle itself, and a very minor wrinkle underneath that very same rearward logo - for those who are not perhaps intimately familiar with this particular model of Cinelli Unicanitor, please know right up front that the manner in which all model 75 # 4 "Tour de France" saddles are constructed inherently results in a faint "line" which appears to varying degrees along each of their sides - this is because the light foam padding on these saddles does not extend across the entire surface of the plastic shell, but rather, only from the seat surface itself to a point half way down the side skirts where it terminates and is glued along its edges - even after the thin leather covering has been stretched to fit and bonded in place, the foam seam found along the sides of these saddles will be noticeable to one degree or another depending upon the individual expertise of the person who was actually doing the gluing (...and I am of the opinion that those in evidence on the saddle in question are typical of a barely used item) - genuine made in Italy - this is a highly desirable model of saddle that appeared as stock on many of the finest vintage bikes (...Atala, Bianchi, Bottecchia, Cinelli, Colnago, DeRosa, Guerciotti, Masi, Pogliaghi, etc.) and happens to be the standard by which almost all others of its kind were measured during the 1960's through mid 1980's - particularly difficult to find in this condition excepting NOS (...which can easily cost double or more than what I am asking here)] - $125.00 USD plus S&H at cost

Ideale 2001 saddle - nylon plastic (Rislan or Nylon-11, a trademark product of the Rislan Corporation) shell - no foam padding - Black leather cover - steel frame and rails - model 2001 ... [NOS - Black leather covering is in excellent condition with only two very small imperfections along the left rear (...I am being very picky here, but if you are obsessed with such things, I am of the belief that they can both be worked out with an ice cube and a careful bit of gentle pressure rubbing with the flat of one's thumb) - the decals are in a perfect, unblemished state - typical of these saddles, the frame rails have a sort of mottled finish that can be cleaned to a very nice state given a slight amount of time and effort, or one can simply ride / show this saddle "as is" - Ideale introduced its line of molded plastic saddles in late 1973, at which point they offered a model 2000 (...a Rislan nylon plastic saddle with steel rails), 2001 as seen here (...using the same Rislan base as the 2000 but with a kid glove leather covering), and the 2002 (...again, based upon a Rislan shell but having a thin layer of Latex foam padding underneath its leather cover) - eventually, Ideale would add the models 2003 (...a deluxe version of the 2002 having chrome plated rails) and 2004 (...again, similar to the 2002 excepting a thicker 15 mm layer of foam padding) to their lineup prior to the complete cessation of production in the mid 1980's] - $60.00 USD plus S&H at cost

Campagnolo Record shift control levers - braze-on mount - post 1980 conical shaped cover plates - beaded alloy levers with pre 1981 / 1982 "raised" logo - model 1013/5N (left) / 1013/6N (right) ... [USED - very nice cosmetic condition with several bonus parts included within the scope of this sale - extra NOS 604/1 friction adjusting wing nuts - early Campy 600/2 and 611/2 stop plates with cable guides in addition to a pair of O.M.A.S. model 198 aluminum alloy stop plates] - $20.00 USD plus S&H at cost

Everest SuperNova - 13/19 (13-14-15-16-17-18-19) standard 7 speed for use with 132 mm OLD rear hub spacing - 22 mm splined removal interface - 1.375" x 24 TPI Italian thread - 5x2 stepped body - ten notch slip fit individual cogs with aluminum spacers / duplex threaded locking cog pair - model SuperNova ... [NOS - a mid to late 1980's vintage freewheel having matte Silver finish cogs that give the appearance of being alloy when in fact they are crafted from durable steel - a somewhat rarely seen bit of Italian kit - never disassembled - flawless original condition] - $15.00 USD plus S&H at cost

MAVIC 430 Super Pro brakeset - 42 mm to 55 mm "short reach" alloy calipers - recessed Allen nut mount - C.N.D. (...Couche Noir Dure) hardened anodized finish - C.P.S.C. compliant "hidden" quick release mechanisms - wire formed steel wheel guides - post 1981 and pre 1990 block lettered "MAVIC" logo on the right side of the caliper arms without any markings on the left side - post 1981 and pre 1990 arched triangular cross-section or first generation "aero" profile caliper arms - post 1985 and pre 1990 natural aluminum Silver colored cable barrel adjusters - Modolo Sinterized type brake pads - 430 Super Pro brake levers - traditional non-aero cable routing - Silver colored non-anodized alloy bodies - "drillium" style C.N.D. hardened anodized aluminum alloy levers with post 1981 and pre 1990 horizontally milled slots - post 1981 and pre 1990 vertical block lettered "MAVIC" logo on facings of the lever arms - Saavedra non-ergonomic replacement Black brake hoods ... [USED - while this is a supremely functional grouping, with respect to its aesthetic condition, I would consider these to be more of a "rider" than show pieces in the truest sense - there is evidence of light oxidization to a couple of the chromed bits (...most noticeably, inside the Allen head of the caliper center bolts - although a dip in Evaporust ought address this minor malady) and the small rubber plug inserts originally fitted to those center bolts and cable fixing bolts are missing entirely (...this has no effect from a functional standpoint, but similar replacements can readily be sourced from most good hardware stores) - there are a couple of very small areas where the C.N.D. finish on the calipers has been nicked (...the bottom right stirrup of the rear caliper and the inner left face of the stirrup on the front caliper - all smaller than the size of a pin head) - perhaps most worthy of mention, the hidden quick release mechanism on the front caliper arms is so "hidden" as to be completely missing: snapped off such that it can now only be operated using the remaining stub (...I take NO responsibility for having broken this myself - of course, you can always replace this part number MO193 with something from your spares drawer or otherwise solicit the CR Membership for a little help in procuring new one) - the brake levers are in nice state showing no "road rash", only a tiny area of compromise to the C.N.D. finish at the lower tip of one lever - with respect to both the caliper arms and the levers, the White "MAVIC" logos exhibit varying degrees of compromise which could always be addressed with a small brush and a little White paint should someone be so inclined - this particular component grouping was MAVIC's top of the line 430 Super Pro model, or in other words, the label equivalent of the Modolo Professional series and their individual piece parts are completely interchangeable - the entire line of MAVIC brake levers and calipers dating from point of inception in the late 1970's and throughout the 1980's were actually OEM versions produced by the Italian firm Modolo and rebranded specifically for MAVIC - although an ardently chauvinistic Francophile might opine to the contrary. I am of the opinion that this multinational arrangement should rightfully be considered a "good thing" to the extent that the Modolo line of brakes were at that time arguably one of the best in the world; the equal of, and in some cases outright superior to, their esteemed Campagnolo counterparts - if a potential buyer wishes me to also send along an original pair of NOS Black Modolo 919 anatomic brake hoods in addition to the Saavedra replacements already included the scope of this sale, all they need do is please ask and be prepared to part with an additional $35.00 USD] - $75.00 USD plus S&H at cost

Weyless quick release hubset - small flange design - non-anodized aluminum alloy barrels and flanges - stainless steel annular sealed bearings - Teflon dust seal - oversized aluminum alloy axles - countersunk spoke holes - 36h model W-HF front hub (100 mm spacing) - 36h model W-HR rear hub (122 mm spacing) - 1.370" x 24 TPI English freewheel thread : Weyless high grade hollow steel curved handle quick release mechanisms - Black anodized aluminum alloy end caps and conical adjusters with knurled fittings - oversized hollow steel skewers - grouped model W-H ... [USED - However, these hubs spin like new or better after having just been fitted with brand new annular sealed bearings - extremely nice condition from a cosmetic standpoint with only the slightest hint of having been laced once before at their flanges (...and that evidence will be completely obscured once these hubs have been built up into a proper wheelset once again) - absolutely NO ovalizing to any of the spoke holes - inasmuch as these hubs feature a non-anodized finish, it is perhaps worthy to note that one can always shine them up to a near mirror finish using some Simichrome or Maas polishing cream (...although they certainly do not need such attentions at this point in time) - for whatever it may be worth, it is a relative snap to reset the OLD on one of these vintage Weyless rear hubs from 122 mm (...standard five speed or narrow six speed) to 126 mm (...standard six speed or narrow seven speed) or even 132 mm (...standard seven speed) by machining an appropriately sized spacer (...4 mm or 10 mm respectively) to be placed over the axle in front of the drive side end cap (...please contact me directly if you require more information in this regard) - includes two matching plus one spare Weyless "can opener" style quick release mechanisms, arguably one of the most unique and appealing component piece parts ever offered to the public during the innovative decade of the 1970's ... BUT ... these quick release mechanisms will be provided in a disassembled state - I had taken them apart to have various of their parts cleaned (...done), polished (...done), re-anodized (...done), and re-chromed (...sorry, NOT done) - the new owner can either re-chrome the few remaining pieces, brush chrome them, powder coat them, paint them, or do nothing whatsoever to them prior to reassembly of the quick release mechanisms themselves - these Weyless hubs were introduced to market midway through the year 1975 in concert with an advertising campaign that boldly proclaimed "Move Over Campy!" - prior to that point in time, Weyless had managed to achieve a measure of success in the cycling world with their high quality indoor rollers upon which Jack Simes set a World Roller Riding Record during the 1975 International Cycle Show held in New York City (...an impressive 681.6 miles in 24 hours - an average of 36.7 mph after discounting minutes spent sleeping or otherwise not actually riding the rollers during that 24 hour period) - while they would ultimately end up offering component versions of Weyless hubs (...licensed from a Bill Shook design), seat posts (...another Bill Shook item that would later re-appear under his American Classic label during the 1980's), pedals (...originally a Bob Reedy design used under license), water bottle cages (...yet another Bill Shook piece that would see reincarnation under American Classic), and water bottles (...manufactured by Mariplast and branded with a Weyless logo) in addition to those training rollers and a broad range of clothing items, Weyless would succumb to dealer / distribution problems, comparatively high domestic wage rates, and a sagging U.S. economy, going out of business before the end of the decade - the Weyless brand of Asian made components which have most recently been sold as the house brand for SuperGo has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in common with the 1970's U.S. based company other than they have cleverly capitalized by "borrowing" a defunct name] - $85.00 USD plus S&H at cost

Weinmann top tube brake cable clips - matched pair - "open window" hoop style - chrome plated steel ... [USED - minor evidence of oxidization, especially on their backside - however, the chrome plating on the majority of the clamps is in quite a reasonable state - OEM manufactured by Huret (...identical to their model 1810 brake cable clips) and certainly apropos those French bikes having a metric sized tubeset with a correspondingly ever so slightly larger diameter top tube] - FREE to the first person who asks (...in conjunction with purchase of anything else from this list)
