Saw a thread a while back inquiring into the "what's that for" of the twin plates which all Caminades have on the BB shell. Well, in case anybody hasn't come up with the answer, here it is: it is most definitely not a stand attachment, the positionning is wrong, and the dia of the pre-drilled hole is way, way too small. Plus there would be provision for a spring of sorts.

What is it then? A Osgear type cable tensionner support. Which indicates with 100ยจ% certainty that when P Caminade designed his bike, or at least the design stage at which the moulds were made for the alloy castings, he intended bikes to be mounted with a cable tensionner.

Any disagreement to be settled offlist by arm wrestling, beer drinking contests, or duelling.
