About a week ago, we were discussing a Huffy bicycle which had flattened tubes to make the bike "aero". At that time, I mentioned that Gitane had a low-end offering which was similar, albeit better still than the Huffy (but not by much). Wouldn't you know it, one has just popped up on German Ebay, so you can take a look at it if interested (no relation to the seller).

Gitane made a Reynolds 531 aero frame, which had flattened tubes and some special extras (like the seatpost binder bolt). Pictures of the "high end" frame are included in the links below. Hinault actually rode a variation of this bike in time trials.
