Thank you Nick and Mike for the suggestions. I had briefly considered that possibility, of buying a bike there, but did not know how to best proceed in that direction. You have certainly offered some options. The only other factor then is not having the time to ride it here and tweak it if needed. But then maybe that can be all part of the adventure.

Does anyone know if rentals are available in Gaiole? Say if I go in the direction of not transporting a bike from here and happen to strike out on the day of the swap meet and don't find anything else? In any case, sure, if a member has a contact in Italy that they feel confident to recommend, I would consider that as well.
