Subject: [CR] Help with frame identification of 1977 Colnago--possibly Mexico

Colnagistas--(you know who you are)--

I would like some help identifying a Colnago frame (my first), which I have narrowed down to 1977 (top tube guides but no recessed brake mounts).

It came with a crankset that looks to me at least--I'm no expert--like a Mexico.  It's light: 3 pounds on the nose for a 58 x 58 c to c.

But it has not seat stay decals or tubing decal.  Marc St. Martin pointed me to the archives, where Brian Bayliss and others suggested that early Mexicos, before crimped tubes, were made with lighter tubing.  Absent a tubing decal or chainstay decals, is there a way to determine if this is a Mexico?

Seatpost size: 26.6.

As always, any help welcome.
