Buck's was/is a very well-known club cyclists' shop in Ipswich, Suffolk, a lovely part of south-east England.

The shop is still on the go in Clapgate, Ipswich but whether it has changed hands or not, I'm not certain.

The chrome lugless frame was probably built by a very talented self-employed jobbing builder who also built for shops such as Shorter-Rochford and possibly Jack Hearne. His name was Barry Chick. Occasionally his frames, in his own name, turn up on Ebay...but seldom fetch good money because he is not well known in his own right.

The Buck frame is very classy and reminiscent of the Condor Barachis, the Jack Hearnes, the Ron Coopers, the Philbrooks, the Bespokes of the late 70s and early 80s.
