I am attempting to repack an Airlite flip-flop track hub. The problem I am having, using the ball bearings that were in the hub, is that I cannot lock down the locknut because the flat on the adjustable cones are too far into the hub for me to use a wrench to hold the flats. I have attempted to find the size and number of ball bearings used for Arilite hi-flange hubs, but I cannot find any reference nor can I find it in the fourth edition of Sutherlands. If someone knows, could the person please tell me? <snip> ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I happen to have an Airlite flip-flop Tom sold me, so I checked it out. Indeed, the locknut on each side is a bit shy of the threaded part of the hub, and thus the cone spanner has to approach at a shallow angle. My Campy spanners are too wide and too stiff, but it goes easily with one of the slender 15 mm Schwinn shop tools, or the equivalent. If these hubs had been designed and built by Microsoft, we'd call this issue a "feature," not a "bug," eh?
