Subject: [CR] yet another colnago date question/different one maybe

Hi Barry,

Good question - I had a dig through the various photos I've collected and part of the problem may be that it's not often shown in photos!

I found one unsourced image of what claimed to be a 1971, which although unclear I could almost imagine did have one.

Ray Dobbin's has one that is claimed to be 72 or 73 which doesn't: http://raydobbins.com/supernew/photos/photo48.html And one claimed to be 71 or 72 which also doesn't: http://www.raydobbins.com/pantografata/after_touchup/after_touchup.htm These both have the cable guide brazeons on the BB.

Mine, which is claimed to be 1968 (and has the drilled BB, and different headlugs) does have the hole: http://picasaweb.google.com/MarkABattley/1968Colnago#5147696339106796850

Your '70 or '71 estimate sounds reasonable. I'm not sure about the indents in the bottom of the shell though? That sounds like a more recent modification?

Have you got photos of yours?

Best regards,

Hi, the fork has the 2 holes and no club on the crown, crown is also semi sloping . My bb shell doesnt have the cable guide brazeons but has a club cutout. it also has indents in the bottom of the shell for the cables to ride along but not actual tunnels. its kinda sounding like i might have a 70' but no later than 71?
