Kevin,

A tip you may or may not know about. I have a couple of pieces of .030 teflon that come in very handy when installing band clamps. Wrap the piece of Teflon around the frame tube that will be getting the band clamp. Push the band clamp onto the tube over the piece of Teflon. The Teflon will protect the painted frame tube and allow you to spread the clamp evenly as you push it onto the tube without cracking the chrome on the clamp. Works great when removing clamps as well. Saves stressing the clamp by bending it too much.

.......its almost a shame to spread the clamps and attach them to a frame after all these years......but then they where made to be used!

I guess this topic will continue...........
