Fred if you can't find a replacement crank, you can probably have the crank arm repaired using a threaded insert such as those produced by Heli-coil. The hole size in increased with a reamer or drill and then rethreaded to a slightly larger size to fit the thread insert. You have to search around. You may luck out and find a bike shop that has the proper tools and inserts. 9/16-20 isn't a very popular size outside of bicycle pedals but it may end up being cheap to go this route.
