$799 was a great deal for the fully equipped Dave Moulton. But, whoever was buying the Motobecane Grand Record frameset was surely doing so out of sentimentality. Maybe they had one just like it in the 70's and wanted to re-live their youth. Many of us can relate to that. If it satisfies that sort of desire, then the price is not as big of an issue. Maybe well bought (for them personally) if it was exactly what they wanted. It'll simply need to be a keeper for a long time to justify the price they paid.
