Not really though. If it's a track hub, it's either spaced at 110 or 120. If it's 120, I'm good to go as that is the standard spacing for 5sp. Furthermore, It's not an easy task to find circa 1950's large flange english hubs in 36 hole. Most all you see are drilled 40/32, then the issue becomes finding reasonably priced 27" rims in that drilling. I think you would all agree that these are pretty scarce nowadays.

My concern does not lie with whether it can be done, as it can. But begs the question of safety. From what I understand from a trusted list member, this could be the major issue.
