Sounds like a circa 1979 - 1981 Ultima to me. I had a 1980 for a while. Deep purple, gold box lining, all Campy. Nice bike but a bit of odd geometry. It seems all the top tube lengths were the same regardless of seat tube length, and mine was a 53 x 57.
