Pic of the Day 8th August 2009 Where's Ivo?

An aerial view of the 1935 World Cycling Road Championships, from Floreffe to Namur, Belgium. A few spectators are distracted by the low-flying airplane of l'Intran. Italian amateur Ivo Mancini and Belgian professional Jean Aerts won their respective races. Mancini would turn pro in 1936, racing as an independent for most of his career through 1947, but the 1935 World Amateur Championship would remain his . From "Match l'Intan" No.475, 20 August 1935.
