I am sending this out in the hope it will generate some serious bids for the auction outlined below for Stuart Culp, owner of Cycle Transport Bike Shop in Fort Collins from the mid 80’s till the mid 90’s Great shop owner and one hell of a nice guy. I can’t say enough about him but check out the support from some of the sites on Google. Stuart was seriously injured on July 14 while on a group ride. See below for more info on this.

I am donating these brakes from my personal collection of vintage equipment. I purchased them in 1978—they have been used but are in excellent condition.

Or contact me at crj@frii.com <mailto:crj@frii.com> or Dustin at Peloton if you have questions.

the brakes will be at Peloton Cycles at the Fort Collins store, if you wish to see them before bidding.

INFO ON THE ACCIDENT
>From the Fort Collins Coloradoan Newspaper

A well-known Fort Collins bicyclist was listed in serious condition Tuesday at Medical Center of the Rockies after spending nearly two weeks in critical condition. Stuart Culp, 53, was hospitalized on July 14 after his bicycle was struck from behind by a sedan on Crossroads Boulevard near Weld County Road 13. Colorado State Patrol investigators have completed their investigation of the crash and cited Andrew Barnhart, the driver of the 2005 Pontiac Grand Am, for careless driving causing bodily injury.CSP said Barnhart, 19, of Windsor, was driving west on Crossroads Boulevard and hit Culp from behind, throwing him off his bicycle, on top of the car and eventually over it. He landed behind the car on the side of the road. The CSP report indicates the Grand Am struck Culp while he was riding on the right shoulder of the road. Although Barnhart believed Culp might have leaned into traffic, Trooper Joe Lesnack said his investigation showed that was not the case."We aren't sure why Barnhart was traveling on the shoulder," Lesnack told the Windsor Beacon. Culp was on a Peloton Cycles team ride and was at the back of a pack of about 20 riders, according to Peloton Cycles manager Dustin Folger.
