Hi Wayne,

Unless you can use the components to narrow the range, probably the best that can be said is that frame falls into the 1968 - 1974 range give or take. They didn't change anything on the frame or decals during that period. Maybe one caveat to that...at the bottom of the seat tube there should be a decal, either a "Made in Italy" oval or a set of Olympic rings with "Made in Italy" on a banner across the rings. I believe, though I am not 100% sure, that the Olympic rings represent victory in the 1972 Olympics so that would give you a little bit smaller range to work with.

I'll piggy-back on this thread, since I have an early Bottecchia project I'm working on for a client.  The frame I have has the block cap lettering, which is actually a white vinyl sticker with black lettering with world color bands on each end. On the top there is a oval with "Campione Del Mondo 1966", and on the bottom there is a similar oval with "Campione Italiano 1964-65-66-67".  Same sticker on the down tube and seat tube (but vertically lettered on the seat tube, of course).  This frame also has the nice riveted-on head badge.  The frame is the traditional Bottecchia blue, with chrome head lugs, lower-third fork blades and stays, and red lug lining and pin-stripes separating the chrome and paint.  Long Campag drop-outs with eyelets. There are absolutely no braze-ons, not even a cable stop on the chain stay.  There is also no sign of a serial number.  I suspect that this frame is from 1968 or '69, but can't be sure.  Any time-line suggestions and/or additional information appreciated.
