Subject: [CR] Help Identifying this road bike

Greetings from Toronto.

I am something of a vintage bike weenie whose "collection" of misfits is quickly annoying my wife. Nonetheless, I was directed to this list from bikeforums.net where I was trying to get help identifying a bike I recently retrieved from France.

Having re-read the rules for this list, I expect that the photos I tried to attach to my original post caused it to bounce automatically. Let me try again with the suggested URL.

Following the decals, I assumed this was a Tommasini. but the Tommasini company in Italy has replied to me saying this frame is NOT one of theirs.

So, if it is not a Tommasini, can anyone suggest what it might be? The seat tube logo is fairly distinctive. anyone seen anything like this before? (Apologies for the crappy bolt. That wasn't my doing and I am seeking a replacement.)

I am thinking it's not a completely crap frame masquerading as a thoroughbred -- why use Columbus dropouts (or are they a dime a dozen?) [ sorry, I don't have the picture of the drop outs handy.]

and the cable routing through the top tube?

pictures here.
