Matty A lot depends on what roads you'll be climbing and if you are hauling panniers. If you are running a freewheel with over 28 teeth, you may want a long cage RD. With a triple you will need a long cage iffn youse got a big freewheel. I did L'eroica with a Rally, 28t freewheel, and a 48-41-32 triple. Most of the hill climbing was in the 41/26.
