I worked at J. M. Hearns in Asheville, NC in the 60's and 70's.?This shop was started in 1896 and had moved only once in its existence, so every smell?that goes with?an old bike shop in an old downtown building was there. The smells I remember most are?that?continuous?pot of fresh-ground 8 o'clock coffee and the best hotdogs ever from Schandlers deli next door. Oh yeah, and all those other things many of you have already mentioned!
