Yep, a 70's bike. But a pretty nice looking machine. I like the yellow paint; great look for a vintage track bike. Let's see if it sells at $4K. I think maybe not.

I have a 70's Cinelli track bike, silver, 49cm c-t. The BEST part of that bike is the GENUINE Campagnolo Track 1/2x1/8 66 tooth chainring! I love that chainring more than life itself.;-) But the effect would not be complete unless the rear cog was a track pitch 12 tooth! Man, what a setup. It's especially comical being on such a small frame. If I'm not mistaken, it's a very rare part, possibly as few as 20 of these were made, along with 68 and 70 tooth rings. I'm sure intended for riding behind the derneys in Europe, back in the day. They don't do it anymore because it's too dangerous, I hear. What could possibly be dangerous about riding behind a motorcycle on the track at 60+ MPH?

I had a couple of questions for Cinelli-philes about this bike, outed by Ken Sanford:

http://ebay.com/<blah>

I think Edward Brooks had it right, this is a 70s bike. I was under the impression that earlier cinelli track bikes had a different lug, without holes in them, and this bike has the later silver-finish headbadge. Older ones have the brass badge, yes? nice bike, but not 1960s, I'm thinking.

I know just enough about Cinellis to be dangerous...and I give Edward Brooks all respect for not being apoplectic that the seller is trying to get 4 times what he originally sold it for...
