I think, to be precise, Stuyvesant Bike Shop moved slightly uptown when it moved to 14th Street. I think the sequence was Avenue A to 1st Avenue and 11th Street, then to 13th Street near the corner of 5th Avenue, then to 14th Street (and 8th Avenue?), and then...

..and then my connections to Stuyvesant Town, Stuyvesant High School, the Bowery (which was Peter Stuyvesant's dairy farm in days gone by) and the entire Union Square neighborhood were severed for good.
