Its the Leri Mirella Bob Freitas told me about when I posted on CR my desire to find a bike for LEroica. Not exactly sure of the year but early '70's for sure. For now I'm going with 1972 unless someone can pin point it otherwise.
Mechanically it was in great condition. It was likely not ridden much in its prior years and just needed a full servicing. The paint was faded and is chipped here and there. The decals are far from blemish free and the chrome was surface rusted as were all of the spokes but after many hours of polishing and cleaning I am quite pleased with how it turned out and decided to leave it just as it is, nicks and all, rather than trying to touch up anything. For now I am leaving the original handle bar tape too since the Balilla brake hoods are an impossible find.
I have put over 250 miles on it so far with many hill climbs and it rides great. Just mounted the new Vittorio's last night so I am anxious to see how they do on the road and gravel.
My thanks to Bob and to Ed Litton for his guidance and assistance on this project and of course the CR list without which I would not have not known where to start.
