Folks, a short while back Jimmy Katynski, a long time CR member and a friend listed his Della Santa bike for sale to the CR list. It has an extended head tube. He asked what I feel a very fair price for it. Since that time a few people have assailed the virtues of that bike in vituperative terms. I think this is grossly unfair to Jimmy and exhibits a lack of sensitivity to his feelings. I do not think it appropriate to diss one of our members bikes when it is being offered for sale like this. No attempt at anything like fraud, misrepresentation, or anything like that was made by Jimmy. He thought he was making an offering to friends. I wonder if he still feels that way?
If it is a matter of taste, I think one should take any negative comments they care to make off line in such a situation. This all came across like hostility to a great guy who had done no wrong and some folks here should examine their behavior in this matter. We so not do so well when we are divisive and not inclusive.
I like the bike. A lot. And I like Jimmy a lot, too. If you feel like making negative comments toward me, please co0ntact me off line to do so.
