Norris,

To answer your question, I own the Pitard in « The Golden Age » and the Pitard's personal tandem with Juliette and Louis' names written on the top tube (http://www.reneherse.com/Pitardperso.html).

The front derailleur was a non-original Simplex, RD was a Nivex (Dujardin always fitted Nivex RD and bought out the stock when Nivex closed).

This bike had some lovely parts (Nivex, Maxi-Car hubs with Nivex axle), interesting frame construction, the carriers and mudguards were a bit less expensive. I would say it sold pretty cheap, probably because the pick up only put off foreign bidders who normally fix the prices on randonneur bikes.

Pitard was specialised in cyclo-camping, his bikes often had interesting carriers, and were generally sturdily built, with heavier tubes than RH or Singer. His catalogue shows prices somewhere near half of an Herse, for example.
