Jon,

I've never seen a paint stripper that discolors chrome; there are however a number of them that will NOT remove paint either. Use Jasco and you will be fine; unless you get some of it on yourself.

Kevin, That is a good question I have also.

I have wondered about the use of paint strippers, but am wary of discoloration. Does anyone have specific experience with strippers that will not injure chrome or other platings?

Anybody have any suggestions as to how to remove paint from chrome?

I have a track bike that was repainted with something cheap (SPRAY PAINT) and the longer I've ridden it I began to see chrome popping out from under the paint on the fork. I used my finger nails to scrape and sure enough it's all chrome.

I could probably keep riding till the paint just falls off. I've thought about bronze wool.

Is there something easier?

Thanks,
