WIth all this discussion about Hetchins Hellenics, Keith Hellon was inspired to offer the following special bike to the CR list before it is offered generally:
This is the only curly stay Hetchins Hellenic. It was built as a special order for Eric Woodward in 1992. The seat stays are straight and the chainstays are curly so technically it was considered a half- curly Hellenic. Seat tube 22" and top tube 22".
The frame features Magnum Opus lugs with Mountain King headlugs, Reynolds 531 double butted tubing. The color is a metallic red over silver with teal head tube and seat tube panels. The frame is in excellent condition EXCEPT there is pitting on the chrome tangs on both the top tube and down tube. They could be re-chromed, but this has not been done.
Components include Campagnolo Record large flange hubs, Weinmann 27" hp rims, Campagnolo Athena chainset, Athena Monoplanar brakes, Athena pedals, Athena front and rear derailleurs (7 speed) with bar end changers. Cinelli 4.5" stem and Cinelli Criterium bars. ASCA Competition saddle with C Record seat pin.
