Subject: [CR] Holdsworth La Quelda Question...

Hello everyone, I've just become the very happy owner of a Holdsworth La Quelda and I'd like to find out about the frame. Everything on the frame points to it being a pre-war model: serial number stamped on the seat 'lug' and what I assume is a clip headset. The serial numbers match and they are 5545. It has a aluminium crown head badge which must be a later addition but on the seat tube it has the 'Worthy' decal. The only other decals are a gold lined 'Holdsworth' in red on the down tube. The frame has two grease nipples, one as you'd expect on the bottom bracket and one low down on the head tube. It has the usual pump pegs on the down tube, three cable clips underneath the top tube but also has 'braze on' for a single shifter and a 'braze on' on the top of the bottom bracket with two thin cable pipes!?!. The rear triangle is chromed as are the fork ends. The forks have a twin plate crown which are also chromed and compared to my 1984 Holdsworth Professional are very narrow indeed! They have a lamp boss on them. I can email pictures if need be but if anyone can give me a correct age I'd be extremely grateful. I intend to build the frame up with period parts and ride in fine weather to fine public houses...
Thank you all very much.
