This ride is planned for Saturday, 26 September. My 7th annual DC area Autumnal Vintage bike ride. I originally planned to do on Sunday, but has been changed for a couple of reasons...
That is one week from today!
I know that there are a lot of you out there that are quasi-local. We don't have enough of these events so please come join us this time!!
No theme this year. Most anything with 1, 2, or 3 wheels made out of steel will be acceptable; but I personally prefer British.
The route will use Beach Drive mostly, heading first down into DC. The route is very fixed-gear friendly and about 25 miles in length. A short cut is available. I and certainly others will be riding fixed gear. There will be one or two moderate hills to give us a chance to get off the saddle.
Non-riders, spouses, etc, welcome, of course. (My spousal unit will likely not be riding) We will assemble circa 10 am with an aim to begin riding at about 10:30.
Earlier arrival is most acceptable. Food, beverages served afterwards.
Please let me know if you plan to attend so I can be sure to have sufficient food, etc available. If you prefer vegetarian fare, please advise. At a minimum, we will serve Pizza and Brats. Along with beer and soda. Food and/or beverage donations most welcome.
I will send directions when you let me know you plan to attend. But we are located just north of DC, close to the Connecticut Avenue exit off the beltway, I-495.
