Subject: [CR] Fw: Introduction

Hi, I am new to ClassicRendezvous, and would like to introduce myself. My name is Roger Webber, and I live in Sydney Australia.

I have had a lifelong passion for riding but have only got into collecting in the last two years, primarily as a result of restoring my 1978 Falcon San Remo that I have had from new, and influence from my brother Mike in New Zealand who has been collecting for a few more years.

I have been through the restoration of a few bikes in the last 2 years, but am now focusing on original condition bikes, and have the most personal interest in English lightweight bikes from the 70's, although I am becoming more keen to build an earlier bike from the 50's or 60's.

My current bikes are:

Raleigh Team track- 1980 but fitted with circa 1970 parts. excellent original frame Raleigh International 1978 (copper). Like it just came out of the shop a couple of months ago. Stored for the last 30 years. With original Pirelli tyres. Falcon San Remo circa 1978. Mine from new, but restored and refitted with NOS Dura Ace 2nd Gen black. This is what I had on the bike when I first built it up in 1980. Guerciotti track - circa late 70's I think, fitted with period Japanese parts. Viner Special Professional - 1982/83. Original good condition with Campag SR. Rob Special 1958 (Australian brand) in need of full repair/restoration. Three off-topic circa 1990 bikes, but including a very nice Brian Hayes built Euro steel aero track bike

I lust after a 1978 Centurion Professional in a size I can ride (around 60cm). This was a Cinelli copy and what my first two racing bikes were in NZ. The first was stolen and the second destroyed in crashes. There are two I know of, of which Tim Fricker has an amazingly original one, and the other much too small one is in NZ. So if anyone ever sees one, please think of me :-)

Regards,

Roger Webber Sydney, Australia

PS. Having a wierd problem sending to the CR email address. It doesn't seem to be sending. So if this has been recieved 3 times, my apologies.
