Subject: [CR] Frame & Fork alignment/repair: Thank you, Greg!

A follow-up to my post last week in regard to my unfortunate experience driving into a parking structure with my Trek 760 on the roof rack:

In response to the suggestions of Mike Howard and Brian Baylis (thanks guys!), I contacted Greg Townsend, a framebuilder who lives over in Monrovia, pretty close to my neck of the woods. Greg was extremely gracious and invited me over to his shop yesterday, where he spent some time wrestling the fork and frame back into alignment.

I had just expected that I would just have to drop the frame off and that he would get around to checking it when he had some time, but he set about on the project right then and there. Watching him work and seeing his meticulous care in realigning the fork and frame was truly inspiring. I can only say that if he puts as much care and attention into his framebuilding (which I'm sure he does) as he did in rescuing my production Trek frame, his bikes must be truly special indeed. And he's a really nice guy, too! Anyone looking to have a local boutique-builder make them a custom frameset should consider checking out Greg Townsend's work:

Thanks again, Greg!
