Peter,

Pretty amazing from this humble tubo di gas to the sleek blue beauties that came in the Styrofoam boxes.

I looks like it originally came with Italian Simplex derailleurs. The shift levers were aluminum like the French made Criterium levers but they had slotted screws instead of plastic wing nuts for tensioning them.
