I have found that acetone does a nice job of taking the branding off of Dia Compe cables. So, if you can find some grey housing that has branding (Dia Compe, Clarks, Shimano), it should be pretty easy to remove it.

Cabling is sort of like tubular tire glue or cloth tape. I can't tell the difference between vittoria or panaracer glue, and I can't tell the difference between Cateye and Tressoplast tape, and I can't tell the difference between unlined Dia Compe and Jagwire and Shimano housing. I'll bet that all 3 are made in the same factory by the same hands.
