I doubt any shop in '73 was charging that- which would have been about triple retail. But I've seen some real rip-off bike shops though so who knows? Anyone could get them then for less than 1/3 that much through Cyclo-Pedia or any bike shop with a conscience I think my LBS had them marked at 45 or maybe 50 tops at the time (which seemed crazy expensive).
