Greg Softley's recent solicitation for further information regarding Universal 175 brakes provided the necessary impetus for me to digitize and post to Velo-Pages the complete Universal catalog dating from 1978. Said catalog may now be accessed using the following link:

http://www.velo-pages.com/main.php?g2_itemId=25096

This particular piece of literature was issued approximately two years after the introduction of their Competizione CX model brakeset and only less than one year after their Corsa model 77 (...note the page number references of "bis" and "ter" with respect to the latter) and would remain the de facto or "current" Universal catalog through at least 1982.

Hi all, Can anyone on the list shed some light on where the Universal 175 sidepull brakes sit in regards to manufacturing dates and quality, when compared with similar brakes of the period. Any information would be most appreciated.
