Perhaps you can clarify what you mean by "chain hanger screw set"? (which you subsequently said goes side to side, not up and down.)

Taking a wild guess that you mean the set screw that attaches the derailleur cage to the shaft, which is the only place I have seen a variation in the screw placement, the original Gran Sport FD has a vertical set screw and the later Gran Sport cum Valentino cum whatever else was lower range had a fore-aft set screw attaching the derailleur cage.  The later cheaper FDs had an extension out the side of the case to stop the shaft wobbling about so much, but the cage would fit the earlier mechs, so there are probably some mixed-up FDs around. I have a campy gran sport f/der. Late 50s I'm guessing.

The chain hanger screw set goes up and down- not side to side as I've seen on all others.

Can't imagine this is an anomaly, so is this familiar with anyone?

If so, know the year made?
