My Mafac 2000s are in silver, and according to Steve Griffith on the classic lightweights site (see his article there on Mafac) their special feature was being " anodised and more rounded (easier to keep clean). There was also the option of gold anodising."

While on the topic.... I've only seen the 2000's in gold anodizing. Is that the only way they came ?? Looking at a picture of the Competitions, they seem to be very similar (if not the same) ... just not in the gold - does that sound correcgt ??
