Subject: Re: [CR] UPS Shipping - fedex major problem!

I find all of this shipping information interesting and I thought I would add my recent case to the mix. I recently had a vintage bike shipped to me by USPS and it arrived badly damaged. The thing is that the seller shipped it with Auctiva insurance coverage, which I was not familiar with, but the seller says that they can purchase the insurance through Auctiva, which I guess is an auction software company that many large sellers use to help automate and streamline their auction listings. My question to the group is whether any of you have any experience with the Auctiva company and know how they handle insurance claims on bikes and whether they are reasonable or not and if they have any exclusions for vintage items, like FedEx apparently has? Anyway, I guess I am about to find out in case anyone is interested. From what the seller says, they seem reasonable and helpful over the phone, at least at this stage. In my case, the guy says he paid with both USPS insurance and also Auctiva insurance, so this is going to be interesting.
