Subject: [CR] Two (2) 1974 Raleigh Framesets For Sale:

Morning Folks,

I have two Raleigh framesets for sale, I originally figured on having them restored, but the economy being what it is for me, means that will not be happening anytime in the foreseeable future. Neither is structurally unsound, so restoration/refinishing is not mandatory.

I will have pictures available this evening.

1. 1974 Raleigh Competition (#G5639): 22 1/2" (c-t) with a 22 1/2" top tube; Wheelbase is 41 1/2" and chainstay length is 17 1/2"; This is a DB 531 frame and Fork (half chrome) but not the stays (apparently); Huret dropouts and Capella lugs; These frames are very similar to the International (although I don't know the International's angles) in dimensions, so I expect a somewhat similar ride?? This frame has quite a bit of patina, but is original, and since it is black, perhaps a "home restoration" would be somewhat easy. Greg Softley has all the decals for these Raleighs, so the possibilities are extensive. I will include a period correct English headset and brake hanger; $110.00 + shipping.

2. 1974 Raleigh Professional (WK400609 I'm not quite able to make out the fourth digit, but it looks like a "0"): 22" (c-t) 22" top tube; 40 1/2" wheelbase with 16 1/2" chainstays; Cutouts in the headlugs and 'CC' cutouts in the bottom bracket shell; This frame is not original!! Sometime in its life it had water bottle bosses installed in the downtube as well as shifter bosses; It also has been repainted a color which is almost the exact color of my '93 Serotta CRL (Serotta called it some kind of "purple"), but it wasn't painted nearly as well, and the head badge went missing along the way, but I have a replacement head badge (new in the bag) which I will include; Once again, Greg Softley has all the decals for a restoration; $145.00 + shipping.

Please e-mail me (off list) for any additional questions, etc.

Thanks,

Chuck Brooks
