Hello I'm new to the list & need some help... I'm the original owner of an early 80's Scapin that has the "cromovelato" finish. This frame was ordered directly from the factory during the period in 82/83 when Bike Tech in Philadelphia was importing the frames. The color of my frame can best be described as a dark bronze. The literature from the period does not include this color as an option. I was told when I purchased the frame that the factory was "experimenting" with this color but never decided to use it. Attempts to confirm this story have proved futile. Does anyone have information that could help me confirm that this color was/was not a factory option? Second, in a number of spots on the frame, the paint is starting to bubble up and/or flake off, exposing the plain chrome underneath. Having just finished the restoration on my '72 Cinelli (& having just paid for wedding) a complete re-finishing of the frame isn't a financially viable option. Any tips or thoughts on what I can do to prevent further paint loss.
Thanks
