Aren't we talking about two different rims though? The auction was for CPL Rims and the 'guy in seatle" sells Ghisallo rims. CPL Rims, according to the auction, are made of Ash and Hickory, and Ghisallo rims are made of beech.

I don't know enough to discuss which rim is better, or how they ride... I'd like to know - since I would like to buy a set...used or new...

Here's another question - if the rim is wider than a typical tubular - say 24mm - who makes wider tubulars to put on these wheels? What was the typical tubular width when they were using these in the Giro?
