Subject: [CR] Macaframa: New and exciting bike film

I think this is the first of the current generation of bike films to come across as an art film and not just a good amateur documentary. Lovely camera work and a great sound track make this a study in the poetry of motion. There is surely some reckless stuff in heavy traffic and stuff like most of the messenger and alley cat racing films, but it is mostly about the grace of high speed (Oh those San Francisco hills!) bicycle handling and some jaw dropping fancy stuff like a guy reaching up and grabbing a tree limb and lifting into an intricate pirouette on his rear wheel. There was a guy named Keo Curry that was just a dance on a bicycle. The film showcased about a dozen different riders, even some disasters when things didn't quite work as planned. This must really be hard on wheels, as I don't know if any of the bikes had two matching wheels. An hour of really exciting cycling footage and some really killer music. Recommended.
