This 1969 Paramount road bike is in very nice shape, as you can see from the pictures. The crank arms indicate almost no wear at all. Beautiful chrome and pin striping. The frame measures 23" from the center of the crank arm to the top of the top tube. I am the second owner and have ridden it less than 25 miles. The original owner was my neighbor and he rarely rode the bike. Even though the bike is clean, I recommend re-greasing all the bearings because of the passage of time.

What makes it special is the extra-long wheelbase (about 41.5"), perfect for distance rides. Components include: Campy drivetrain/seatpost/hubs, Weinmann center pull brakes, Campy chrome pedals, Cinelli bars, Cinelli old-style chromed steel stem, Brooks Pro saddle, Regina Oro freewheel, and the original Schwinn handlebar tape!

There was once a pump mounted on the bike, with electrical tape covering the paint to protect it. Some of that electrical tape is still on the bike, and the next owner can carefully remove it.

This is a real collector's item. These long-wheelbase Paramounts come along only once in a while, and this one's a real gem.

I try to price my items fairly. If you want to bargain, that is fine but you'll need to indicate what you are willing to pay and I will respond if the item is unsold and if I wish to lower the price. I will not sell this Paramount for much less that the asking price because I can obtain the same amount or more by disassembled the bike and selling the components sold individually. For example, both the Cinelli stem and the Campy chrome pedals have sold for $150 - $200. Frames like this easily sell for $400 - $600.

Cash and local pickup strongly preferred. No certified checks of any kind, but I will accept "regular" US checks, allowing ample time to clear with bank confirmation. I have lived in the same town for 50+ years, am a licensed professional, and am not going anywhere, so any potential buyers paying by check will have to have some trust.

I'll immediately remove this ad the moment this bike is sold, so please don't e-mail asking if it is available because I do not respond to such inquiries. Just assume it is ready for your enjoyment. The response I am looking for is "When can I come over to buy this?"

Thank you for your interest.
