I have the same issue on a set of Suntour Superbe fronts.  On mine it seems to be caused by vibration.  To test I swapped out the Scott Matthauser pads that were on it, but old and sometimes squealy, with some newer generic shoes and the problem has gone away.  Carry a twist tie with you on the ride.  You can tie the lever closed through the slot in the caliper.  I resorted to this when I first lost braking and was far from home. I have noticed that my Nuovo Record front brake quick release tends to "flip up" to the open position by itself during a ride. Has anyone else ever had this problem. What causes this and is there a way to correct it?

Thanks in advance!
