Subject: [CR] For Sale Gorgeous Presto, Stunning Somec, Hetchins, Woodrup, Colnago Oval CX plus SSC wheels GS wheels and parts

Offered to CR members are some beautiful, interesting and uncommon frames together with a number of wheels and parts. The Presto and Somec frames are especially worth looking at...

I can take payment a number of ways - Paypal or cheque in GBP, cash sent registered post, Traveller’s cheques in $, direct bank transfer within the UK or European Iban bank transfer. I will always combine shipping in order to reduce costs.

Frames and wheels cost 80 GBP to ship to the USA, 100 GBP to ship to Australia/New Zealand and 11 GBP within the UK. A complete bike is about 120 GBP to the USA.

With the pound being still quite low in value these are a real bargain... for US and European buyers. Paypal is quoting 1.65$ to 1 GBP.

PRESTO ROAD FRAME 58cm c1979 Seat Tube (ctc): 58cm (23in) Top Tube (ctc): 56cm (22in) Rear dropout width: 125mm Wheel size: 700C Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 45mm Seatpost size: 27.2mm Frame tubing: Reynolds 531SL Presto frames are practically unknown in the UK and outside of their native Netherlands but they are something really really special if this one is typical... Presto frames were built by Jan LeGrand who was the chief mechanic for the Ti-Raleigh team during the 1970s and 1980s and back in the 60s was a good pro rider himself. Raleigh Ilkeston’s Team frames were heavily influenced by his work – indeed he used to come over before the start of each season to supervise the building of Team frames for the year. This frame is totally exquisite – take a look at the work that went into the dropouts and the stay ends both front and rear and the drilling on the underside of the fork crown. This is one very special frame. Its in virtually perfect condition.245 GBP http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Presto.jpg http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Presto-dets.jpg

SOMEC ROAD FRAME c1979 Seat Tube (ctc): 56cm Top Tube (ctc): 54.5cm Rear dropout width: 125mm Wheel size: 700C Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheels: 45cm This is one truly gorgeous frame – take a look at the quality of the lugwork and the time and attention that went into the lugs – I have rarely seen another Italian frame as nice. This really blows Colnagos and such like completely out of the water... If it was my size I would definitely have kept this for myself. I have sold several other Somec frames and they were very nice but this is the best of the lot... Somec are hugely underrated. The paint and chrome are both excellent but not perfect – there's a scrape on one side of the top tube which needs touching up better and there is a tiny ding on one side of the top tube too. 245 GBP http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Somec-1.jpg http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Somec-dets-1.jpg

COLNAGO OVAL CX c1981/2 Seat Tube (ctc): 21.5in (55cm) Top Tube (ctc): 22in (56cm) Rear dropout width: 126mm Wheel size: 700C Seatpost size: 20mm Colnago Oval CXs are not especially common. This one is very sound – it has been repainted, the paint is very good though a little pitting on the underside of the top tube has not been filled. This would not normally be noticeable when built-up. Otherwise this frame is exceptionally sound. 425 GBP http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Colnago-CX-aero.jpg http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Colnago-CX.jpg

HETCHINS ITALIA ROAD FRAME 1966 Seat Tube (ctt): 22.5in (57.5cm) Top Tube (ctc): 22in (56cm) Rear dropout width: 124mm Wheel size: 27in/700C Front brake drop with sprint/700C wheel: 55mm Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted Seatpost size: 27.2mm This is a very attractive Hetchins straight stay Italia frame from 1966. Its definitely not one of the Italian built ones – it has fancy extensions to the seatstay bridge and to the fork crown. Both the seatstay bridge and chainstay bridge are curved. I have long suspected that Hetchins in the 1960s had other framebuilders occasionally build frames for them – this one looks like it could have been Bill Hurlow built – the top eyes and lugwork to me have a Hurlow look but whether it is or not would now be very difficult to establish. The chrome is very sound without being perfect. It is at present otherwise in bare metal. I can of course deliver it to Argos at no charge if the buyer would like...195 GBP http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Hetchind-1966.jpg

WOODRUP ROAD FRAME late 60s/early 70s Seat Tube (ctt): 22in (56cm) Top Tube (ctc): 22in (56cm) Rear dropout width: 130mm Wheel size: 700C Brake drop with sprint/700C wheel: 54mm Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted Seatpost size: 27.2mm Frame number: 2243 This is a very sound Woodrup road frame from the late 60s/early 70s built with Campag long road ends without eyelets. 75 GBP http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Woodrup.jpg
