This is certainly an on topic discussion............
   Very few of us are building frames.
     But what we are doing , is buying used (sometimes REAL used) bikes and Frames or trying to maintain them. Many times I have had a bike that I could not get the headset to correctly adjust (classic diagnosis is headset that goes from tight to loose with very little in between).After proper facing the problems go away and they are easy to maintain and adjust.
     Recent thread about tools that you consider necessary should probably include a good head tube Facer/reamer some of which will press the head cups in also.
           I think ''Dales Garage'' is all about Vintage Lightweight ownership and its issues
