Subject: [CR] Weinmann rim timeline on Bates B.A.R.

Hi , I bought a fine 1949 Bates B.A.R. today with what appears to be all its original paint and components. The wheels are 27'' Weinmann rims with very small dimples around the rivet holes. The disc around the valve hole has Weinmann 27 x 1 1/4 on it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/makfreak/4151496392/in/photostream/ Laced to Gnutti 3 piece small flange gear fixed hubs. I know Weinmann rims have a long history but does anyone know if these rims are likely to be correct for 1949? The lack of wear on them is echoed by the rest of the bike. It turned up just 6 miles down the road with 3 Flying Scots and a Freddie Grubb. It's not every day you come across a complete, original and hardly used classic like this, especially in the Scottish Highlands.
