Jack,

You probably have a Campagnolo Record Superleggera (superlight) 1044/A seatpost. These first showed up in the 1971 supplement to the #16 1968 Campy catalog.

In addition to the aluminum rails they had 2.6 mm thick seatpost walls vs. the standard 3.0 mm thick Record seatposts. They came in 180mm and the short 130mm versions just like the Record seatposts and were also available in a narrow cradle 1045/A style.

The Record Superleggera seatposts were probably discontinued when the Super Record 4051 2 bolt fluted seatposts came out as they are not listed in the 1974 catalog.
