Thanks! The Trek info is at the margins of CR acceptibility, but at Vintage Trek (www.vintage-trek.com) one can look at the 610 or 620 for 1983 and 1984. The 1983's will have a rake around 55 mm, and the 1984's will have 44 mm if I recall correctly. The 1984 frames started to be made in late '83, maybe the whole 4th quarter, so I wonder if the Trek designer looked at the Gitane bikes or specs and got some ideas ... Beyond this I know nothing.
