http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/doc/bik/1504985526.html No, this isn't a British Higgins, but an Austrian Steyr-type, from our friends at Sears, Roebuck. From the era when Schwinn had just shed its slap-shifter, it was not a bad bike, and great funk (as you would expect, I have one). At $225 asked, I don't think it is a bargain.

But, you remember the recipes for "carp-on-a-plank"? Something about a very involved multi-step process, at the end of which the plank is pretty tasty? At some price, surely would be worth buying for the original Campy GS derailleur set and shifters, and nice Weinmann brakes, too. "Yup, I'll buy it...just mail me the brakes, levers, derailleurs... and toss the rest." :-(

This model has seamed tubing. Trust me on that. It is not to be confused with the decade-later 531 model in pale lime color.
